A tasty blast
from the past
The TwentyOne|01 building was built in the 1920’s as a grain and food storage warehouse for Piggly Wiggly. When Safeway bought out the Piggly Wiggly grocery stores in Colorado, the building was sold to them. Not needing the space, it sat empty for more than 40 years. In the 1980’s, the building was used as artist’s lofts, and by 1990’s it was vacant again. Alliance Residential Company, one of the nations leaders in apartment communities, purchased the building in 2006.
